And to add futher answer to your question, you can't change the fact that many people have and always WILL feel a need for God. Religion simply gives comfort to many people and spirituality is something built into their inborn psyche. So this is why I don't ridicule the need for religion. There will always be atheists, and there will always be the religious, and nothing you can do to change that plain fact.

And back to the issue of Islam again...it kind of perplexes me why there are those here who have been saying "Hey we have nothing against Muslims, but we can't stand Islamic theocracies". But to say that is something quite contradictory. This is because it is in the Quran that Muslims are to live under theocracies, they are to be ruled by the Caliphate. Concepts like secularist democracy, communism, socialism and all these other "isms" are not only extraneous to Islam but they work against its very being. These concepts are un/anti-Islamic. Islam is not just a religion, it is a way of running a nation, it is a political system which was adopted by pagan kings such as Genghis Khan who used it to run China. And pagan king Charlemagne used Christian political systems to run the West. Saying that one hates Islamic theocaries but doesn't have anything against Muslims per se, is like saying that they don't have anyting against Catholics but hate them having a pope. So Muslims won't be any more comforted by those who say thay hate their theocracies but don't hate them. Genuine Muslims will only take this wierd attitude as equally hostile as if you said you hated Islam itself.
