If I were serving on a jury and they refused to show me the evidence (i.e. the pictures or video), I would simply vote 'not guilty' and keep it up until they showed me the evidence. How can you be convinced 'beyond a reasonable doubt' that a person is guilty (or not) if they won't show you the evidence? But you're right, many people are too fucking lazy or brain dead to do that.
