justice system. This is the end of the relevance of the jury. The jury has now become null and void. But the justice system will still feature the jury but only as a means to convince the public that the system is still working.

The first major hit to the jury system cam many decades ago, when jurors no longer realized (or were told by the court officials) that they had the right not only to cast their vote based on whether the accused actually commited the "offense" he is being charged with, but also that they had the right to cast their guilty or not guilty vote based on whether they (each juror) felt that the offense should even be an offense at all.

So that was major hit to the jury system - Number 1.

And now this.

This I must say, Takes the cake. But is certainly just as unfortunate an erosion to the justice system as the above mentioned example.
