Thank you for this post, Furcifer. I am glad that my experience with a B4U-Act workshop has created a greater degree of hope in our community. The org isn't perfect, and doesn't claim to be, but it's definitely a step in the right direction and it has all the time in the world to improve itself, despite the fact that I think it's already accomplished something that many in our community believed was totally impossible. It's still a small org that is based in only one state in the U.S., but give it some time...with the growing support of our community it will hopefully become bigger and more influential in time, and eventually include an office in all major North American cities, and even inspire countries outside of North America to create similar orgs. I am pleased that MAA's from outside of North America are already showing an interest in attending workshops in the future and that this community is slowly getting over its understandable fear that the org is some kind of sting operation.
I know we have a lot to do and that only a limited number of issues can be brought before the MHP's at this time, but we have to be patient and accept the fact that our movement for societal acceptance has to be done in steps. But I am definitely convinced that B4U-Act is a step in the right direction, and I have high hopes for the org in the future. |
