Illegality creates secrecy of the act; oppression of those who would commit it if they could; and if money can be made, incentives for organised crime involvement.

All of it might be justified for murder and robbery. I really don't think it these costs are justified for sex laws.

And no, physically forced or intoxication induced rape is not a sex law; it's a personal autonomy law. Learn the difference.
