It's not THAT stupid. Their methodology and biases were, but there is something there. Now, that we know a lot more of how the brain works than back then, we can and have found the specialisation of each lobe and area in the brain, and we can and have found physical symptoms present with each lobe and area that are associated with specific mental features and diseases. The truth is that, the more we know about the brain, the less field psychologists have. And I am glad.
