Yes, there are some people who think that murdering a child is less of a crime than sharing sexual activity with them and thereby destroying their "innocence." But this is pure emotion coupled with sex-negativity that worships a false paradigm of what childhood is supposed to be. Murdering a child is an unconscionable crime...it takes the life of a child away, thus leaving no more room for growth and life experience. Mutually consensual sexual activity is sharing something with a youth, giving them something special, not taking anything away from them. People learn from sexual experiences, e.g., how to give and receive pleasure, to love more strongly, and important social experience for later in life. This is hardly comparable to murdering them. I think it's horribly offensive for anyone to claim that sharing sexual activity with a young person is worse than murdering them. I don't agree that "innocence" is more precious than life itself; I think the latter is extremely valuable given its brevity, but the former is merely a type of social status that must be shed if someone is to achieve life experience, and the sooner people learn this life experience the better they will be able to cope with life's ups and downs in the future.
When you have sexual activity with a youth, they are still able to grow as people and experience the many pleasures of life. When you murder them, you completely take all opportunities for growth and progress away.
