State/federal government have laws that oppress minors, which youth liberationists oppose. However, we also oppose the degree of parents' legal control over their children. Laws, and law enforcement, unfairly prosecute and oppress everyone, and that includes minors. That doesn't change the fact that parents also oppress their children.

Your plea of "they're the real problem!" sounds to me like you're really saying "they're the bigger problem." I find this irrelevant; they are both substantial problems that should be tackled simultaneously. I dunno what country you live in, but America is extremely individualist, NOT collectivist. Our government does their best to herd the sheeple, but that's for efficiency/demagogy reasons, and not because they want to promote collectivism.

Legal responsibility of adults for their children is an indirect oppression of children, by using parents as proxies. That is, parents oppress their children because the law told them to. E.G. serving alcohol to a minor, and similar laws. That's one exception to the rule that parents can decide what their children will or won't do.
