You would not consult a dictionary to learn about a subject. Paedophilia is a subject. It has ceased to become some broad unimportant word which can be used interchangably with a variety of synonyms. It is now the name of something classified as a paraphilia which can cause sexual disorder.

Untrue. It is a word which has many usages. Some of them are as subjects. But the subjects vary based depending on the context of usage and the disciplines which address them. Excluding all others than a law enforcement psychiatry definition can't be done by fiat. And since law enforcement and psychology utilize different terms to different ends, you won't find a singular definition.

Challenge; please cite a definition of Pedophilia from a current criminal code? I'll wait for your reply. But as with all my previous challenges, I don't expect you to be able to cite a source to defend your notion that Pedophilia is a law enforcement subject.

A quick search of the Ohio criminal code shows that neither Pedophile nor Pedophilia show up at all. Whereas any terms found in it like the one I chose, "toddler," can be cited.

Now do the same with Pedophile if you can? Pick any Governmental Criminal Code in the English-speaking world. I'll be interested in seeing you back-up your claims.

You admit that "child" is a word with a few definitions; as well as a subject in several disciplines. I'm sure that narrowing "child" to its usage in one discipline and to the exclusion of all others won't serve those who aren't discussing the specific context. And all the spamming I might do to establish a sole usage won't mean that the others cease to be valid; and perhaps better than the one of my choosing.

Your attempt to simplify "Pedophilia" by fiat is no different.

If I can't parse between the different disciplines it presents a problem in any attempt to narrow the definition to a singular one.

And as for targeting by terrorists, they're on to you. They already believe that MAA, Pedosexual and GirlLover mean "Pedophile." No new poster at GC should be given the false impression that choosing an alternate terminology for describing themself as a GLer will make them any safer from the Terrorists. If your argument serves to allow newbies to believe that eschewing the term "Pedophile" will increase their safety, then you're placing them in danger.

Even our "Non" allies here have been targeted by the Antis for failing to be Anti enough. Anyone who comes here needs to be aware that the risks in posting cannot be avoided by limiting one's vocabulary.

Ultimately their safety depends on being able to talk meaningfully about who we are and what the threats to us are. Your desire to limit ideas and vocabulary only diminishes our ability to achieve this goal.
