Yes, but it was hardly a romantic involvement. I recall when I was that age, I was certainly seeking sexual experience. I grew up in England during the immediate post-war years and spent my pre-pubescent years happily with a group of neighbourhood children. At that time, in England, the sexual climate was different from now. Sex was not openly discussed, homosexuality was illegal, and paedophilia was not discussed at all. As a child, any interaction with the adult world of sex was from the occasional find of a pornographic magazine, or spying on a teenage couple making love in the long grass, or by reading erotic graffiti. At that time, every park and playground in the UK would have one or more public toilets. These were deserted, secluded Victorian buildings with walls covered with the most exciting erotic graffiti. As a 10-yr old, this was a fascinating glimpse into the adult world of sex. As I recall, most of the artwork consisted of messages soliciting gay liaisons, but some also described activities involving men and children, often with illustrations. I remember being aroused, even at that age, by looking at these messages. My friends also looked at this stuff, but I was always the last one to leave the toilets and sometimes returned alone later, hoping to meet one of the authors of the messages. Nothing much happened as I recall. On one occasion, a man shyly exposed himself to me and I looked on in wonder as he brought himself to climax. The point I am making was that I was actively seeking adult contact, but very little actual contact occurred. Then, as now, most adults would be wary of a a liaison with a sexually precocious child, even though at a fantasy level it might seem to be tremendously exciting. I suspect things are statistically similar these days and there are children of a prepubescent age who are curious about sexual matters, and would welcome sexual contact with an adult, but only the most reckless adult would risk involvement.
