First off, kids do not have such a clear cut line like "I like girls only". I remember diddling with other boys' doodles when I was very young. In fact, I preferred males because they had more equipment to work with, but that didn't stop me from having a little fun with the girls also! ;) People in general are complex.
My dad was never a social creature, and like everyone he had flaws. If there was an older man in my life besides Dad who was more than just a friend, my childhood would have been soooo much healthier and smoother. Instead, my adolescence was dark, and lonely, and confusing, and empty. Young boys really do need physical affection, and for me, physical affection from an older man would have helped me more than all other choices, and I would have been perfectly happy with it. If I wanted someone to hold my hand through social life, through school, or learning work skills, or puberty, or especially sex, I would want it to be from a bro, a buddy, an older guy with experience. It would have helped so much. That kind of closeness is so perfect, it is not some kind of evolutionary leftover, it's a God-given . ![]() |
