Actually...was never attracted to older women...so that normal scenario is abnormal....

Anyway!

I dunno.
I mean it definitely would not have made things worse...and perhaps having someone, even an unrelated man, to care for me would have been an improvement.

Then again...having anyone to care for me properly would have been an improvement. And having that attention would probably have done a world of good for my self confidence....
