The CP that is out there is, by definition, already produced. So it wouldn't be inconsistent to hold a view against CP production and also maintain that it wouldn't necessarily be unethical just to view it, so long as you're not contributing to demand (buying, trading, etc.) That would make sense if the person was opposed to CP production, not in general principle, but because of a worry about possibilities for abuse.
