As far as I have heard, the tracking dots are only in laser printers, as a counter to money counterfeiting. They also are printed in yellow ink, so using an inkjet printer that allows you to print in only black (with the color cartridge physically removed) would be preferred. Of course, the dots would only implicate you if a test was done on the printer you used, which would only happen if you were a suspect. Chances are if things got to that point they would already have a witness or some evidence.
