Our current system favors the rich, wheras the libertarian system favors nobody. Why do you think that the huge corporations support republicans and democrats, if libertarianism would be better for them?

I do believe in welfare, and as such, I am not a standard libertarian. But, anyways, what I am getting at is that libertarianism isn't a cruel system that seeks to abandon the poor. Most libertarians I know are good hearted, and are not really that rich either. And, there is endless amounts of theory you can read up on if you choose, that really paints libertarianism as something we'd all want, even the poor. I don't buy it, but it is a very well researched position, and it is much better then what we have now.

Anyways, where I stand is in the incredibly small group of leftist libertarians, who wouldn't fit in any party really. Most of us do advocate reforming the welfare system to make it more efficient, but we don't want to eliminate it or seriously scale it back either.
