force the poor to fend for themselves no matter how much the system screws them over

Corporations will still have to respect the rights and health of its workers. They will still have to obey the law just like anybody else. They will not be unrestrained to abuse and mistreat as they wish. The Law will still be in control, not corporations.

I do understand the power corporations have over who they hire... they have it today... which could lead some minorities out of work if they are hated enough. Look at Lindsay Ashford for instance -- he was forced to give up activism for survival because he couldn't find a job. This is a problem, I will agree with you there.

They are about keeping government "big" in regards to helping people and "small" in regards to interfering with civil freedoms.

Here's the problem: how do you seperate the two? How do you get rid of the grey area? Depending on the logic of the system, banning pro-pedophile websites could be considered "helping" people, e.g. children. The lines become blurred, ideals become perverted... and soon the system becomes something it wasn't originally meant to be.

Basically you're asking for too big of a change. Our civil liberties are being diminished day to day, just read the papers. We're being spied on, lied to, people are being thrown in jail for vague "obscenity" laws. We need to stop this now before it goes further. You think the Greens are going to have a chance at stopping this? Perhaps the libertarians don't have much of a chance right now either, but they are gaining support, and if we put hope in them I think they can make a change for the better in soon time.
