Recently a very close friend of mine got caught up with the wrong type of girl that called the police on him, that was a year ago. A few months back he randomly contacts me of what happened and since then we've been keeping some contact.. What I ask is if I should just leave him be under the 'sex offender' claim he is under. I could get him in trouble, I'm still only barely turned 15 years old and he's going on his way to 25 now. I really don't want him to get in more trouble then he already is I do care for him deeply.

...I can't tell you what to do. 'n you probably know that already. This decision is pretty much for the two of you to make, for your own reasons, 'n only you can know what is important to you.

I can tell you that it's a hell of a lot safer to him for you to say "you're a great friend, I don't want to get you in trouble, please call me in three years." 'n I can also suggest that if this is not the course of action you choose to take, you may wish to looking into increasing your operational security, because you are undertaking any meetings in the terrain of a very hostile government.

One other thing to keep in mind is that most jurisdictions allow unrestricted contact with minors if one can find a person, get them approved as by the court as a "court-approved chaperone," and have them present at the time. This may in fact save a lot of hassle and risk while still allowing you to talk to each other.

Whatever you decide, good luck.
