I wholeheartedly second the motion to look into the Unitarian Universalist Church in your area, Abraxas. They are politically and religiously liberal in the extreme, especially on the two U.S. coasts and in the Great Lakes region. The only problem for some Christians is that U/U's, as they like to call themselves, do not believe in the Trinity, hence the 'Unitarian' part of their name. In other words, they do not believe in the divinity of Jesus. If this does not bother you, they can be very welcoming to all sorts of people who have a hard time fitting in anywhere else, including transvestites, people who practice extreme body piercing or other types of self-mutilation, and other differences from the 'norm.'

Even so, don't expect to be welcomed with open arms even there, if you admit your pedophilia. It's still unsafe to do that in any church I've ever heard of, including my own, which is very liberal but not as liberal as the U/U's.
