I was aware of this when I was studying Christianity back in my teenage years. Christians ought to say that the Holy Scriptures contain the truth of the character of Jesus Christ and his Salvific work, not the idealogical truth that determines Life in general. But, the moment they do this, they "feel" the loss of stability from all the supported written work. Take the Wrath God poured on Sodom and Gomorrah, Noah did not "preach" and took over the world; he left it alone and thus God destroyed it, according to the myth. Either Christians recognize this or not is not my place to say but they "so-called" take education seriously, so we shall see.
