Society is not effectively better or worse than at any other time in history, just different.

i agree have you seen those children in somalia they have no happy boxes there

So we cannot pick any other country or time in history when children may not have been under similar atrocious treatment? You perhaps would like to read up on the number of child prostitutes in the UK in earlier times, unless you see nothing wrong with that. What about the child chimney sweeps, the children in mines. Should I bother to go on to other countries? As I said, societies do have their problems but they are not effectively that different just that attitudes and behaviours change.

We obviously live in entirely different societies, as for example the narrowing of their choices seems if anything to be expanding wildly to the extent that there is too much choice.

i agree again there is cheeseburgesr, pidzza and taco bell and now the coke is also diet so i can fit in the abercrombies new season skirts

Don't start me on the cultural influence of the USA. Don't assume that these things are the sum total of childrens' lives or that they make up a significant influence. I would expect that children from around the world are hardly that much different from their peers of a hundred years ago in many respects. They certainly have more freedom now and range of choices.
