I think you misunderstood. Of course you shouldn't lie--if you're for legalizing intergenerational sex, then by all means, admit that if asked. My complaint was concerning the jd420/full-frontal assault approach: rush in and start spouting off arrogantly about how all parents are evil oppressors and abusers of children and all laws against intergen sex should be dropped immediately or damn near it.

I know, I know--I'm misrepresenting the p.o.v. of many CLers, but that's exactly what it sounds like to many non-peds. This is an issue that requires subtlety and finesse in the approach and empathy with parents' concerns.

I think my case has amply demonstrated that many people can be tolerant and open to us. Of course, the people at DU are nonmystics and thus tend towards logic and open-mindedness as a rule. I'm sure that plays a part. But getting to know people and becoming friends with them opens many doors. It takes time to build up a level of trust, on-line as well as in real life. (Nowhere has that become more clear than recently at GC.) I think you've done a good job of building a similar trust up with your real-life friends, and I'm sure you didn't drop that bombshell on them when you first met them: "Hi, I'm Dissident. I'd like to have sex with teenaged girls."

Also, I know you balk at the idea that the culture views teen girls and little girls differently when it comes to sex, but they do. I think, despite the protests, there is some expectation that adult males are going to be attracted to pubescence, no matter what stage it is in. But they certainly do not expect men to generally be attracted to little girls. I have a female friend who insists that all men are attracted to all female age-ranges, and that the proscription against pedophilia is entirely a cultural one, but I very much doubt that. It certainly isn't the case with me.
