Before giving up, consider moving to another country. This country is sliding further and further into insanity. I believe it will get worse before it gets better. If you have any friends willing to support you lean on them. It only takes about $3-4,000 to relocate to either Canada or Mexico. Consider that.

Your son, being young, will one day be old enough to make decisions for himself and you can be there physically to hug and guide him again. I know what I talk about and it took me many years to re-enter my son's life.
