...is breath in your lungs, a fire in your belly, and at least one working brain cell, there is hope. Remember this: The court system is NOT a justice system, but a means for the state to enforce whatever they wish, upon whomever they please, whenever they choose. In your case, the persecution of you for a thought crime, committed and adjudicated fifteen years ago, is what they please to do.

It is apparant that the court system is not going to be a remedy for those Child Lovers, who, like you, are incessantly wronged by government, dehumanized by the populous, and otherwise denied justice, until certain prerequisites in place. These include, among other things:

1)The opening up of discussion and debate, without fear of either vigilantes or LEA persecuting us simply for the "crime" of our being.

2)A renewed respect for research into human sexuality in general, and pedophilia specifically, regardless of the results.

3) A moratorium on further dehumanizing and stigmatizing legislation, which not only fails to protect children, but puts them in grave danger. When you treat people as sub-humans, some of them will act the part.

4) An understanding that Pedophilia IS a sexual orientation, like Heterosexuality and Homosexuality, and therefore Child Lovers must be entitled to the same protections against hate crimes and bigotry.

5) Involvement of non-pedophiles, such as Gays, scientists, psychologists, and especially youth themselves, in educating the public that children are sexual and will have sex regardless of any draconian legislation that may be enacted into law.

6) An understanding that, like other sexual orientations, Child Lovers CAN and DO control their sexual urges, even when around children.

7) The AOC laws are control devices, NOT child protection.

8) In free societies, ALL people have the right to speak on their own behalf, without fear of either prosecution or persecution.

9) Child Lovers, whether they were born that way, or aquired the attractions while growing up, are not sick, demented individuals, but fully human, and deserving of respect, and full civil rights, just like everyone else.

10) Most sex offenses, other than the thought crime of looking at pictures, are committed by people who are NOT pedophiles.

I hate to say this but I must. Your case is a perfect example of why Child Lovers should not come out of the toybox at this time in history, unless they have literally nothing to lose. Those who do come out and have something to lose, be assured, WILL lose it. Of course, this is the Catch 22. How can we argue for our rights, take our turn at the microphone, and tell people the truth about our orientation, while hiding in the darkness, hoping no one will discover who we really are?

And that is why I have so much respect for those of you who are out. You have put everything near and dear to you at risk, and proudly told the world who you are. Unfortunately, the world took everthing, kicked you in the balls, and told you you have no right to exist.

Yet, there is reason for optimism. We are uniting, both on the internet and in real life. I have spoken to many people in the community on the phone and even expect to meet some in person. I am sure there are others who have, or will be, coming together as well. History shows us that a persecuted minority is virtually impossible to extinguish. They persevere through the darkest hours until the light of dawn finally smiles upon them. It is good to remember that following the Dark Ages, came the Renaissance.
