That being if a poster (especially a long time poster who should be well aware of the risks) chooses to out themselves the board will confirm that such was their true intention and let their posts stand?

Why else would taf-kat, seeming to have no involvement in this branch of discussion, make posts on the subject of the anti mentioned in the post edited? Or complain about the colourful metaphors used? "Steam off their shit"? LMAO...

Bottom line Baldur is you cannot shield people who do not wish to be shielded and taf-kat has by his own actions and words made quite clear where he is coming from. Editing posts because he doesn't like how he is referred to and then allowing him to comment on the deletion makes it evermore clearer just whom it was Dissident was speaking of. At this point you may as well add the name back into the Original Post, as only the slowest witted will be unable to follow the threads to their logical conclusion....
