How is this offer different from the multitude of other oportunities we've had to spread understanding on various forums?

Even if you're right, weren't we posting on Daydreamer's blog before she closed it off? Weren't we trying to maintain a dialogue with AZU?

I agree that there's nothing to be greatful about. This offer represents a minimum standard of decent behavior.

I'm willing to see if this is a real oportunity or not. My hopes aren't exactly high considering, but if there's a chance to open a couple more minds, I'm going to take it.

It's all a calculated risk. It is every time we ever make the attempt to go out there and dispel the illusions people have about us. We risk helping our enemies reinforce their ignorant prejudices against us on the chance that we can turn an enemy (or neutral lurker) into a friend.

As to knowing who our enemies are, I'm judging that by their actions in the here and now. I don't give a shit about history, because frankly, I wasn't here for all that history to develop.

If and when the worst is confirmed, I'll stop wasting my time, of course, but until then, I'm taking that risk. Just understand that I know it's a risk. From your prospective, the potential payoffs don't ballance out the risks. From mine, they do.

I stand by my earlier suspicions, but I'll give them their chance to prove their intentions are benign.
