Children should learn about the sexual functions of thier bodies before they get to an age where it awakens, and they become the sexual beings you fear. They should know everything, including the right to say no OR yes. Children aren't stupid, and will always reject incongruities, "just say no" will always lead to more of them saying "yes".
Educate them about protection, rape, diseases, everything associated with sexual activity so they don't grow up learning lies on the street. Forget about pedophilia and sex offenders lists until we do what will help them the most-- educate them. We now have a culture of keeping our kids stupid, calling it "innocence" and freaking out when they "lose" it, even when they want to." I fully agree. The answer IS education, education, education. Chidren growing up with a sound knowledge of all things sexual, with the ability to talk openly and shamelessly about sexual matters and feelings and with the freedom to use their own judgement are far less likely to become predators and abusers in adulthood. We KNOW the old system is producing people with twisted minds - hence the nunber of child abusers. It is time for us to STOP producing abusers !! Let our children grow up with healthy attitudes based on knowledge and freedom. W. |
