Rookie,

I agree with the essence of what you say. Yes, I agree that we need to try and be civil with the many antis who post against us. To be fair, it can be difficult to keep your composure when you wade through all the ignorance, hatred, and threats, but I understand that this has to be done if we are ever to have any type of discourse with society. I was personally disgusted with Kyva's nasty insults and threats given to antis on Ella's blog, for example. So I DO agree that we need to do our best to remain civil under fire. I don't agree with simply throwing ad hominem attacks at our detractors, because that accomplishes effectively nothing.

Now, in the interest of fairness to the activists. You suggested in your post that perhaps we don't listen enough to what the anti-pedos have to say. Bull-fucking-shit. We listen to their venom day and night, every single day of the week, every single time we pick up a magazine or watch the latest TV talk show or police drama where they are attacking and misrepresenting us. I think we have no choice whatsoever but to listen to them, because they currently hold the popular, politically correct, and socially dominant view. We get no support from any quarter currently, unlike the gays who at least enjoy unwavering support from mainstream liberal quarters. So I think it's nonsense to suggest that we don't listen to the antis enough when we have absolutely no choice but to do so. Yes, I DO agree with you, however, that simply responding to what they say with a slew of insults (or worse, threats) helps nobody.

As for people like Angry Momma having valid points. What type of points are you talking about here? I would have to see some examples before I agreed or disagreed. All I've seen from the antis are unfettered emotionalism, blind hatred, and rampant ignorance regarding what it's like to be an MAA in a world like this, not to mention a bunch of threats and utter contempt for the cause of youth liberation. Again, I'd like to know what valid points you're talking about before I agree or disagree, because you made a statement but gave no examples.
