The idea that marriage was the only relationship that granted 'sexual rights' to the married couple, and further extended with the concept of 'life long', then making a choice at age 6 that had such life long consequences may require so called 'emotional maturity'.
However, by releasing sex from the bonds of unholy matrimony, one can now consider sexual activity independent of 'life long commitment', and hence no longer requiring any other emotional 'maturity' than what ordinarily occurs for any other pleasurable activity that a child may engage in. |
