As much as I think it's a good think to challenge people's opinions on pedosexuality, I am going to stop sending her comments. I encourage everyone else to follow suit.
From the comments from her friends that ARE getting through, it seems that she's "rallying the troops". I believe she stated she was going to start another blog on this subject entirely -- and $10 says the blog will feature moderated comments (how do YOU spell "viewpoint censorship"?) -- and other people have been relaying her messages on their blogs. She's entitled to her opinions (though I think she's letting her emotions blind her sense of reason and logic), and it's obvious that whatever we send her will only be spun to make us look horrible. Take for instance the comment that pedophilia is a crime -- I've sent two seperate notes to her regarding that, informing her of the finer points of pedophilia vs. criminal pedophilia, and she hasn't given us an inch. By attempting to post comments and by talking about her here, we're just fueling her outrage and indignation. Is she wrong? I certainly think so -- but she is so convinced that she's doing good that she's not going to stop, regardless of how much we try and clear things up. The fact that comments are moderated (to stop only us from posting) is indicitive of how this will go. As long as she holds all the cards -- and it's her blog, so she's the one editing the killfile -- we're not going to be able to get any valid points across, and the people reading it will continue to think that we're ACTUALLY harassing her. So, I encourage people to stop posting on her blog, stop posting on her friends blogs, not to engage them in any way, and especially not to discuss her here. It's only fueling her. I know it sounds defeatest, but some people only go away when you ignore them. It's a case of how internet Trolls operate -- opposition keeps them around. Problem is, Trolls usually come to you -- in this case, we came to HER. She obviously doesn't want to hear anything from us, and I think it is smart for all parties involved to oblige her. Thoughts, anyone? Am I being logical, or am I wrongfully admitting defeat, or what? |
