GirlChat #353502
Dear Congressman Brown,
I wake up today, check news feeds, and find myself assaulted with the unconscionable story that a 14 year old Akron girl has been put in jail, for an indefinite period of time, and refused to even be allowed a lawyer to protect her own interests. This, apparently, is because she refused to testify against a 20 year old male accused of molesting her. From all evidence known to the public, the girl contends that the abuse never happened, and they are exploiting and abusing this minor to get a false testimony. While this could be inaccurate, it is certainly what is being portrayed on every news feed reporting it. I'm just one concerned citizen trying to bring an injustice to light. It is better than one-hundred guilty men go free than one innocent man go to jail. Has that basis of our judicial system changed so that an innocent child is put into jail for the sole purpose of managing to put a possibly innocent man into jail? I am interested in your views on what is taking place in this situation. Thank you, [My real name] ![]() |
