Some people are simply imune to logic and facts.

For some people, objective and empiric knowlege means nothing. "I think X, and nothing you say will make me think otherwise." The word "because" has no place in such an axiom for them. What they think is what they think, and no torturer in the world will make apply real thought, relfection or scrutiny to theyr own opinions. Such people, once you identify them as such, can be sadly but definately written off as a waste of time. Theyr egocentric way of thinking {if you can even call it "thinking"} is uncurable.
