Those shadows may be cast by the light of the computer monitor. One has to switch it off and step outside from time to time. GC and GCC are no substitute for RL. And even at dusk there is more illumination out of doors.

A lot. My sexuality has always been more than physical expression. Do I feel my heterosexuality diminished by every attractive adult female who, for one reason or another, is "out of bounds?" No.

Mixed messages do not strengthen our position.

While each person should be true to themself, sometimes that means aknowledging the lack of a common front. We all face certain issues. But we don't all arrive at the same solutions in our personal lives, nor should we necessarily. Any movement that sacrifices individual choice in favor of strength smacks too much of joining the other side.
