Most people in my life thought the radio station call was irresponsible, unproductive, and ill-conceived.

Well, yes and no. One the one hand, I know exactly why you did what you did, and I understand that the nature of your personality can sometimes lead you towards these types of grand gestures. I personally think what you did was great for media relations and for our image, for two reasons:

Out of all the people that called in to slam pedophiles/child lovers [many of whom were obvious fakes], you, the sole representative of the other side, were the only caller that was completely sincere and honest. That will resonate with listeners for a long time.

Also, the public knows how persecuted we are and so recognize what a brave act it was for you to call in. It's oh so easy to call a radio show and agree with not only the host's views but society at learge, but what you did was truly courageous and heartfelt. No one can deny that.

As for it being irresponsible, my main concern was with your personal well-being and the well-being of your family, but it looks like Roberts' posturing has come to naught, just as it should. In other words, the public isn't as stupid and illogical as Roberts was counting on them being. People like him are an insult to the intelligence of his listeners and the rest of society, but the joke is on him--he just doesn't get it yet. Most people take him with a whole damn box of salt--he's entertainment, pure and simple, and that is all he will ever be--he's the modern day court fool--a living joke that takes himself seriously.

That said, you know I stand behind you 100%. I have defended your actions here and at BC and will continue to do so, as long as some here question your wisdom on the matter, even as I believe you may not have been aware of ALL the consequences of your decision. Even so, I believe any of us could just as easily have fallen into Roberts' snare under the right circumstances. Like I said, because of society's views and treatment of us, they have forced our hand--fight or flight--and for those of us that are out, we don't always have the luxury of running away. Sometimes we have to fight, and when it comes to such a battle, I will be there to fight with you, just as I hope you'd do the same for me.

will never in my life watch one of us being targeted for vigilante hate crime and not take what action I can. That is the only issue involved in my deciding to contact that program

If only 10% of people (here and outside the CLer community) had those kind of principles and integrity and stood on them as firmly as you did that day, the world would be a much better place to live for all of us.

I am not a member of NAMBLA and never have been.

Well, I'm glad this deal fell through then, because had you taken his money, you would've been guilty of fraud, and that could've landed you right back in prison.

I learned a great deal through that experience. It was intense and difficult. I appreciate my friends. I securely deleted all correspondence so please forgive me if I owe you a letter.

No problem. I understand.

I am a decorated veteran of the United States Army (Calvary) and served under enemy fire as a young man. I wore my stripes with pride. This country is as much mine as anyone’s. I’ll be god-damned before my civil rights are stolen from me. I have little use for straight society in the US as it stands but I have family and business interests which tie me here. I don’t have the faintest clue if political activity can be effective. It is uncharted ground.

Now THAT sounds like the Remo I know!

I am well as is my family. I will post soon on the play.

Glad to hear it. Peace, my brotha.

Todd
