Hi I forgot,

I think the greatest gift you can give a little girl is your attention to her thoughts words and deeds. Have you ever noticed that almost all children want you to watch them do even the most mudane activities? Those who do this have earned the love of the child by giving her something far more valuable than material goods. Under these circumstances (of genuine care and love), small, inexpensive gifts are always appreciated far more than their retail value. With children, its not "How much", but "How sincere", and "Will you watch me play with it?".

"Kids feel loved no matter what one gives them... an ice cream cone can say more than a Play Station. A bunch of wildflowers can be more loving than something overt. JMHO."

I join you in this opinion. Its not so much what you give them as it is the feelings with which it is given. And nothing communicates those feelings of love better than listening without lecturing, playing without forcing it, and being willing to just watch, when that is what she wants you to do.
