Tallguys definition of 'Naturalness' -- I agree

Yet again, I am so very impressed with the analysis and observations at GC...

Tallguy's analysis (and his definition of "Naturalness") is an interesting and valid approach to the original Captain Ovious post. To paraphrase (and add my own spin to his)...

Sexuality was created by nature. While it is likely that it evolved (or was given to us) to serve procreational purposes, we are intellectual creatures living in a different society then the one in which we evolved. Today, sexuality (and even attraction/friendship) serves human kind as a recreational activity. In view of this, I like Tallguys definition of natural: It is any activity that refrains from hurting others.

At one time, killing your neighbor to access his stash of fruit, his bear meat, or his mate - might have been quite "natural". Today, we have laws and a support system for dire poverty. That would not be considered a natural behavior.

One more analogy (I can't resist). For my cat, biting off a piece of an oponent's ear is quite natural. For Mike Tyson, it is a savage and inhuman act. That's because we define our humanity by our collective and intellectual appreciation for the rights of others.
