Hi guy - welcome to the board. Interesting first post. Things like homosexuality, pedophilia, suicide, depression, etc. may be confusing since it seems like they shouldn't exist, that natural selection would have selected against these things over time and that they'd be basically nonexistant by now. But other things must be taken into consideration. As one example, a gene that causes one of the above conditions could be linked with a gene that increases fitness in some way. Also some homosexuals and pedophiles still marry members of the opposite sex and have children. There's a lot of other ideas floating around concerning evolutionary psychology.
BTW I would have replied to the original post, but I forgot and just started writing here, and the stupid copy/paste function on my comp randomly stops working.
