Though I agree with parts of what you say, in particular the fact that finding a 13yo girl attractive is part of the natural order of things, I have to stand up on behalf of attraction to 7yo girls.
Younger girls have all the characteristics of femininity that males find attractive - but more pronounced. They are smaller, they are hairless and they have cute bums. Therefore it is far from unimaginable that a heterosexual adult, who usually looks for such qualities in a woman if he was same-age attracted, would appreciate the beauty of little girls in the same way.
As for the "survival of the species"... I agree that an attraction to children is obviously not evolutionarily valuable in a reproductory sense. But perhaps child-lovers are evolved to be better able to care for children then others are. Since we have a genuine love of girls we are adaptively beneficial since we can support many children in a community rather than be restricted to just our own like other adults.
I think it was in "Benson's Story" (search GirlLinks - well worth a read) that there is a sizable chapter devoted to discussion of the whether paedophilia is or is not a bad idea evolutionarily.
I look forward to reading more of your thoughts.
