My reply was strictly mathematical, I only provided you both with numbers you can rely on, not my subjective opinion.
However, I will write my opinion here. First of all, I believe that the thumbnail viewing can be really helpful for people who have enough time to look at each thumbnail, and then click on the ones they like. If you really have that much time, Pictureview is the choice for you. However, I really don't like clicking on each image just to see it, and then saving it to location; or 'save target as', or whatever. When I find a website I like, with lots of pics, I use Teleport Pro to download the entire website, no matter how long it takes (I'm on 56k connection, btw). I just can't spend hours in front of my computer looking through pictures to find the ones I like. I also know that there are many programs that automatically download all of the pictures (or any other binaries) on newsgroups you select, which is pretty useful if you don't have download limits, no matter what the connection is. You'll have plenty of time to sort out the pics after you download them. And, censorship looks like a huge drawback... |
