There's a news-summary mag called The Week which features a column called "Boring But Important."

Unfortunately its the "novelty requirement" bit that leads to underreporting of ongoing rolling disasters no matter how high the death toll. At some point the very unstoppability of some wars ( declared and otherwise ) becomes the reason that they drop from the convo.

Not that its any kind of justification. But sometimes a people whose children are still being killed when the reporters have turned away will resort to terrorism as a way of getting attention.
