Was any of this worth it for the US? To destabilize Iraq just to ensure control over American access to the oil supply?

gas prices are down. gotta be worth a few dead kids, right? after all, WE still have them under our control. Without us, where will they get their lawyers, guns, and money?

It would be better for all if America stayed at home, fixed its broken culture, and worked on living up to its original ideals that made it a model to emulate throughout much of the globe. Every time it gets involved in nationbuilding, its undermines those values and cuts a swath of violence where it goes.

[question for Dante, Dissident, qtns, Markaba, and others that have strong political philosophies and follow world news events closely: can you recommend news sources that seem to be 'more factual' oriented rather than selling stories? I am soooo distrustful of US News sources about this kind of stuff. Where do they get their news? Do they have 'boots on the ground' in Peshawar? Or do they rely on mass releases, sponsored by governments?]

How can we make good choices and opinions without good information?
