The Tomorrow Children

Let me just say up front that I'm not much of a gamer. Not because they don't interest me but because being one-handed severely limits the number of worthwhile games I can play, which means there's not much point in investing in a gaming system. However, I do half-heartedly follow the industry, and I recently came across a review for a game called The Tomorrow Children, which sounds pretty damn fascinating. The graphics look kind of stupid, but the concept is really cool and appeals to one of my fantasies. Here is a paragraph from the Game Informer magazine issue that just came out:

An experiment goes horribly wrong in an alternate version of 1960s Russia, and as a result, humanity is driven to the brink of extinction. The world is left a blank white void, and you are a human consciousness implanted into the cloned body of a little girl tasked with reviving civilization. Only the community can triumph over such horrible odds; the rights and property of the individual have no place in the monumental project to bring humanity back from the brink. Amid the Soviet-era overtones to the visuals and audio, you and your fellow players set to work building a city in the void.

What I love is the casual introduction of the concept of sticking an adult consciousness, male or female, into a little girl's body. I once read a book where a man's consciousness jumped around into different bodies, one of them a 12 year old girl's, if I remember correctly. I do not remember the name or author of the book though, unfortunately. It wasn't bad, but nor was it a life-changing kind of book. But I did respond to the idea of being a full-grown man stuck in a little girl's body (and not like that!) And now, here's a game where that seems completely unnecessary to the stated goals of the game, but yet, there it is. Anyone else know anything about this game?

For more info check out this link, and be sure to play the little video at the bottom. This game just looks bizarre.
