So far as I can tell, what was allowed in was completely legal, even though they knew what I was doing with them.

Some of the images in the newsletter Uncommon Desires were questionable in that there was child nudity but the newsletters were allowed in. I had ordered, also, a David Hamilton coffee table book which was withheld from me once it arrived until I challenged their refusal. I had the book for years, until just before I was released when I gave it to an appreciative friend. There was a book by Sally Mann in the prison library but it had been harvested of imagery long before I got there.

I suppose I was pretty lucky, eh?
