There is a distinction. The first case is parents hating the idea of pedophiles, the class of them as a whole. They hate them for the same reasons as everyone else, intensified perhaps a bit because of parental protectiveness and the sense that THEIR kids could be terribly harmed.

If you ask about parents hating a particular individual involved with their life, outcomes vary a lot. If the pedo is celibate and just a good friend to the kid, they may well not dislike him at all. If a pedophile does anything a kid doesn't like, then they will hate him like anyone who harms their child -- very intensely as they will assume the harm is also intense.

If the kid was OK with a sexual relationship that is discovered, they will of course assume the child is mistaken and hate the pervert, assuming like most others that the kid will be very damaged, doesn't know what is good for them in the long run, and the adult should have.

I'm having trouble thinking of any cases where parents would hate a pedophile for reasons different from how anyone else would feel.

Parents will sometimes get upset if a kid wants to spend lots of their time somewhere else, but this covers a wide range. It could just be a peer friend who is richer and has more toys, or a charismatic person who is good at something the kid likes, someone who just identifies with the kid a lot and is on the same wavelength. The pedophile whose interest is romantic or sexual(which the parent never discovers) seems like just one special case of that.

On the other hand, lots of parents (disproportionately poor parents who are stressed) are delighted if anyone will take the kid off their hands for free. That can be a benign instance of a village raising a child. But this is also of course the way much sexual abuse facilitated -- and pedophile friendships that involve no sexual activity or involve activity the kid does not mind.

In that entire landscape of reasons a kid might prefer someone else's company to a degree a parent is uncomfortable, pedophiles are just one small part. In the movie "What Maisie Knew", the wacko mother gets upset because her boyfriend is very quickly better with Maisie than she is.
