"Parents hating us isn't a control thing, but in their mind, sex is a bad thing."

You don't even need to be sex-negative to still feel a Westermarck twinge at the thought that someone thinks that your mother or adult child is "f*ckable."

How many adults of legal age visiting from college have been assigned separate guest bedrooms by their parents? "Not under my roof", is the watchword.

And if they cringe and want to avoid the reminder when its 20/30/40/50somethings we're talking about should we really assume that it won't be a factor in wanting to avoid being reminded that someone else gets a stiffie when thinking about their grade-schooler?

It may be healthy that helicopter parents don't want to micro-manage their children's sexuality.

But it is also silly to pretend that they feel entirely comfortable about their kids' sex lives and don't have a selfish interest in their children being sexually inactive ( ....."by 'choice' of course, we are libruls after all." )

Liberals know that healthy development includes not just puberty but sexual exploration.

But RLY, just how many who would rush out to a specialist should Johnny be delayed in potty-training or Sally be delayed in speaking would similarly worry that Billy is 8 and has never played doctor or Emily is 15 but hasn't masturbated yet?

Anyone?
