Illegal. The crime that finally brought Devlin down involved him paying a man named Michael Ehmen, 21 at the time, $100 to bring new people to visit him to be photographed. Ehmen recruited a 13-year-old boy... Ehmen, who allegedly commited the crime, gets half the time. Devlin, who may well have committed no crimes, and would be an entrapment victim in any case, doesn't. Illegal. Summit Hospitality Group, which owns and operates several hotels in the Daytona Beach area, bought the Desert Inn for $6 million in 2013. ...and this is who is responsible, in case anyone wants to play "let's fuck up a hotel chain."
