Presumably sexuality means the same as sexual orientation in which case by dictionary definition it only refers to gender. That's not to say there aren't other factors at play when deciding who you're attracted to. Race, height, attitude, age etc.

So by arguing that pedophile is a sexuality are we not saying that first the fundamental definition needs to be changed to accommodate more than just gender and then argue that pedophile is not a mental condition but a sexuality so that we're then entitled to protection as a distinct sexuality?

Is it not an easier path to argue that girl lovers and boy lovers are already heterosexual or homosexual and so protected under those sexualities and so focus on disproving that pedophiles don't have a mental condition but are merely attracted to younger females or males?

I mean a man attracted to woman regardless of race or other characteristics is protected and can't be treated differently. Attraction to a female regardless of age I would say should have the same protection for the same reasons, your sexuality is heterosexual. But the law says you can't have sexual relations so it should be perfectly legal and protected by law to be a heterosexual attracted to children but only have platonic relationships. That at least is a first step.
