Well, some gals stay petite.

But that is the flaw of Dawson Casting. The genuine LG will likely grow up to be too tall to be cast as a kid. So what we get are young women who tend to be a little more "squarely built," because even if they're flat and the legs are shorter, their torso will still be about as wide.

Though back when Jamie Lynn Spears was a tween she looked like she was built on the square.

Now I've got nothing against the shrinky-dink like Hayden Panetierre. But she doesn't look like a juvenile version of the future tall girl.

When I've met a few who could pass for tweens, it was in RL, not in the media. I used to work with a gal whose main job was as a middle-school English teacher. On parent-teacher conference night there were a few student volunteers there to guide the parents around. And she was mistaken for one. "Now dear, could you show is where Mrs. Grey is?" "I AM Mrs. Grey."

Of course the thing in Dawson Casting is that they usually want someone who looks pretty. They don't want someone who looks cute to the point she won't cue "beauty" to the teleio public.

As I mentioned to sadlife, from the late 50s to the mid 80s there was the "sex kitten." But she didn't look like a child. Her curves were usually even more hourglass than average. But the face had neotenous features.

There are some celebs, like Asia Argento, that have a few features that evoke something girly, but only to those who already like adult women. Perhaps its proof that even many who deny that they're interested will still try to find as many neotenous features as they think they can get away with appreciating in public.
