I was thinking recently of Markaba's deranged claim that Pedo activists MUST be out.

This, despite the fact that even a Non like Mr. Summer can tell you that the Antis will crawl out of the woodwork to hound him just for asking questions.

But since Markaba is a comix geek, he should remember the reason why Superhero's need a secret identity.

So too with those determined to tell truth to power.

There can certainly be some gains from those who chose to be out.

But being out and active is ( I would think ) incompatible with having children in your life who count on you. There are very good reasons why those with an LGF who are out in their local neighborhood might chose to be out on the Web, but would never post identifying info about their LGF or her parents.

Because they know that the antis would reach out and try to hurt their "enablers" and remove the LGF from parental custody. They know that the 'rents would have to sever contact and deny him in order to keep her. And that it is highly unlikely that informed parents would agree to be outed nationally as allies who provide a Pedo to access to the girl he loves.

But if they did need to sever contact, it might be possible for them to do so.

What of those who are less "disposable" to the child. What of the Pedo parent? What of the guy who is the sole male caregiver for the girl he loves?

Demanding that he prove his "sincerity" by outing himself is demanding that he treat himself as disposable in the LGF and her family's life.

Heck, some will always be tied together. His name on her birth certificate. Their house under his name. You don't need to make them dependent to make them legally entwined.

If d0xing the Pedo d0xes the girl's other support system, you've just demanded that he put them all in danger of vigilante retribution.

Its an easy demand to make for those who know that they will never marry, have children, or get so entwined in a girl's life as to be indispensable. But not every Pedo believes that they should either shut-up or make themselves disposable at a moments notice.

If Ethan has daughters who carry his name, he has a very good reason for keeping the Ethan nick until such a time as no further Peds nor str8 allies can be harassed. This is what allows him to provide another forum for Markaba to go to to claim that the only sincere activists are out.
