Secondly, what you said regarding the pervasiveness of Internet trolls is completely correct.

Thirdly, though, I must ask: Did you just skim my post? The reason I ask is because I importantly noted the situation regarding trolls, specifically with this sentence:

So yes, in summation: 1) I'm fully aware that many of these commentators are likely to simply be trolls who behave much as you describe; 2) They wouldn't have such ammunition in the first place if not for the pervasiveness of the sex abuse hysteria for three and a half decades now; and, 3) I wouldn't be surprised if some or even many of those commentators truly believe that verbal acid which they spewed on the song, because the collective psyche of our culture has indeed been warped by the sex abuse hysteria. The trolls enjoy exploiting it for their own purposes of disruption and shit-stirring, but they are far from the only purveyors of such ignorant hate speech; many people really are that ignorant rather than just being shit-stirrers.

And fourthly, I too like "Alone Again" (naturally! Get it?). But I'm sorry, that latter tune just doesn't match the beauty of "Clair" :-)
