For the record, I'm not going to throw ad hominems at Rosie to tell her off. I'm going to hit her with some uncomfortable facts and rebuttals.

My problem with her is the way she has to play the classic PC "anti-pedo/anti-youth sexuality gay person" card to make her minority group look more acceptable to the general public. She also does this by acting like the CP issue has no nuance whatsoever, and that the police should be arresting people based on pictures they look at if those pics are offensive enough to mainstream sensibilities, no questions asked. She feels this collects brownie points from the general public towards gays, and "proves" what a massive difference there is between gays and MAPs.

The thing is, we know that homosexuality and pedophilia/hebephilia aren't the same thing, just like we know being black and being gay aren't the same thing (though it's possible to be homosexual and a MAP, just like it's possible to be black and a homosexual). But that doesn't mean each minority group totally lacks any political parallel with each other.

We also do not conveniently ignore the fact that homosexuals were once treated much the same as we were during a time period when it was largely understood, and the entire mainstream way of thinking didn't accept it. This also puts Rosie's words to shame, because it shows how happy she is to forget where her particular group used to be, considering the position the gay community finds themselves in today when compared to MAPs. She's very quick to throw salt on a less popular minority group and deny their legitimacy if that's what it takes to bolster the image of her own, and keep it from sliding back to what it used to be.

Very noble of you, Rosie.
